The Professional Thread
I am fluent in the language of translating technical reality into strategic decision making — across domains, across scales, and across the boundaries where hardware, software, and science meet. I've done this at the component level (Apple, iPad hardware), the systems level (a PhD in Operations Research, focused on regional and national-scale renewable energy projects), and now the strategic level, where I connect experimental performance to commercialization priorities and long-term technology roadmaps––working across disciplines and leadership levels to align teams around what a technology can actually do and what’s worth building.
Whether leading team initiatives or setting technical direction as an individual contributor, my work is the same: take the messy input signals, real-world tradeoffs, architecture-level constraints, and a dash of uncertainty that live deep in the technical weeds, and turn them into clear narratives and decisions that executives, engineers, and investors can act on.
That same translation ability extends to capital and to company-building. Through fellowships with SOSV-HAX and Material Change Institute, I've sourced deal flow and developed investment theses for energy and resource-management DeepTech ventures — bringing an operator's eye to the diligence and judgment that separates a promising technology from an investable one. Over the next few years, I'm looking to deepen that work: taking on senior technical leadership, and turning research into companies — whether by backing them as an investor or building them as a founder.
About
My highest aspiration growing up was to work in conflict zones as a translator. I love languages and words, and the idea of decoding critical information under pressure thrilled me. I imagined myself in the middle of confusion, making sense of important information when it mattered most.
I have kept that sensibility, and although the form may be different than what I expected, I laugh now realizing how much of my life’s been, in fact, exactly that: leaning into uncomfortable, high-stakes situations to find the gems that can move things forward.
I've indeed picked up a few languages along the way, and I've also had the chance to sit in rooms and occupy spaces where the kind of translation the world actually needs — between disciplines, between people, between what's technically true and what's practically useful —was in short supply.
Ask me to describe myself in three words, and I'll say: steady, ambitious, intuitive.
